Delaware County’s $338.5 million 2015 budget holds the line on real estate taxes for the first time since 2011, maintaining a millage rate of 5.604 mills. A taxpayer with a home assessed at $134,000 would pay $725 in county real estate taxes. County officials have credited a number of factors enabling them to hold the line on taxes, including increased grant funding for Fair Acres Geriatric Center, pension savings and debt service savings.
The county anticipates generating $168 million from property taxes, a $1.2 million increase from 2014. It also projects $83.5 million in federal grants and $19.7 million in state grants. It expects receiving another $27.8 million from various departmental earnings.
